At the height of her career, Brigitte Bardot was equalled only by Marilyn Monroe as an international sex symbol and the epitome of beauty. For Americans, she seemingly appeared out of nowhere in the 1956 film And God Created Woman. And for two decades, she dominated any screen she was on. But by 1973, she finished her final two movies and went into retirement, leaving behind two decades of work that defined what sexy is.
